If you have adopted a pet from Chesapeake Cats and Dogs, we would love to hear from you!
We just wanted to send you a quick picture. You can't really tell in this
picture how big he is, but he is HUGE!!! Mowgli is hard to photograph
because he loves to attack the camera. Here he is in "a quiet moment". He
has really turned into a wonderful pet.  He plays wildly, but loves his
cuddle time just as much.  He sleeps in Natalie's room of the time.  I often
wake to very loud purring next to me. (He likes to lay on the pillow.) He
gets along well with the other animals.  Actually, he seems to be the boss.
Our 3 legged beautiful lab will come over to Mowgli and he will just
repeatedly smack him in the head. He does not use his claws so I think that
he is playing.  Our other cat would like Mowgli to settle down and is often
cowering somewhere. A minute later, they are cleaning each other.)

Anyway... He is beautiful and we all love him!!
Thanks for everything,

Just thought I would give you an update on Annie.  She is settling in nicely and likes being picked up and snuggled.  Based on how she was when I saw her at the center and the first day at my house, I am surprised she's so affectionate towards me.  I am also thrilled.  She is not adjusting too well to my other cat, and I figured a long term foster would adjust easily.  We will wear her down yet. Please give my thanks to everyone who assisted in getting Annie to me.  I think we both appreciate it.

I just wanted to let you know that Darby is doing great and I am truly glad to have adopted him.  He is very loving and mischievious and a real treat to have at home.  He is fond of my two boys particularly my youngest.  You can find them together most of the time lounging on sofas or playing.
Thanks to you and your volunteers i was united with him and i am gratful Thank you so much!!  I will be in touch soon about a possible second adoption.

"Chance and Ashes are just doing great.  They are absolutely crazy about both Ashes and Chance and are so very happy that she took both of the kitties because she can see how much they truly love each other.  Chance is doing wonderful, prancing around the house with her tail up in the air and both Mrs. Edmonds and her daughter adore her".
Charlie had his first birthday which we celebrated but he is still the kitten.  I have been sleeping downstairs since my surgery but decided it was finally time to move back to my bedroom.  Well, Sir Charles has been busy up there.  I have a king bed with twin box springs.  The covers on the box springs were shredded!!!!  He pulls himself up side down, across the underside of the bed by clawing on the covers!!  It was so funny to watch him, I just couldn't muster up the strength to get mad.  He also had thrown all the pillows off, pulled the drain plugs out of both sinks and the tub, chewed on the large plant,  etc. Sunday I was gone about 6 hours and when I returned home, I stepped in water in the laundry room.  I hadn't run the washer so I couldn't think what happened.  I found out ~ silly me had left the watering can for the plants full of water and he turned it over!  He is into EVERYTHING and I wouldn't trade him for anything!!  He makes my day - every day.  Thanks again.
We adopted little River last week from Chesapeake Dogs and Cats and he is a PERFECT fit for our family. He is a smart little cookie who doesn't jump up on my young children, he has a peaceable disposition and we are just tickled pink to have him in our family. River came to us following the death of our long time family friend, our choc. lab, Hershey. We LOVE River, he has a brand-spanking-new collar and leash and tags and is fitting in well with us. He is learning how to walk well on a leash, and even learning sign language from my husband who is deaf.
We can not thank Chesapeake Cats and Dogs enough for introducing us to Balto/old Casino. As you can see he has quickly worked his way into our hearts and home. What a great addition to our family. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
These pictures were taken during Thanksgiving. What an appropriate time for Balto to thank you also. I am sure there is some sadness in his life that we will never know about, but we are replacing those memories with happy times.
God Bless.
Balto's forever humans
Thought you would appreciate seeing how my little white adoptees have grown.
They play hard and then they sleep soundly!  I named them Westley and Buttercup - Buttercup is the Princess in the movie "The Princess Bride" and Westley is her "True Love".

We treasure these little creatures!  Thank you for letting us adopt them!
